Who You Are
As a Senior Transport Planner, you are instrumental in guiding and advising on transport implications and opportunities of development proposals. You ensure that these proposals contribute to sustainable, healthy, and inclusive transport systems in Barnet, aligning with the Council’s commitment to a net zero borough by 2042. You work closely with planning colleagues to shape developments, provide transport planning advice, review policies, and contribute to masterplans and area-based strategies. Your role also involves securing funding for sustainable transport initiatives.
What the Job Involves
Your role involves providing transport planning advice on planning applications, reviewing scheme designs, and negotiating financial contributions for transportation services. You support planning services by offering pre-application advice and preparing reports, meet with stakeholders to discuss issues, contribute to transport policy preparation, and support active and sustainable travel infrastructure. Additionally, you contribute to the development of transport and planning policy, manage risk considerations, and assist in preparing presentations for various council bodies.
