Who You Are
An experienced gardener with at least 2 years of experience, ideally holding relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture and PA1a & PA6a pesticide application certificates. You are knowledgeable about health and safety in horticultural work, familiar with operational standards within the horticulture service, and have basic machinery maintenance skills. You are a team player with strong initiative and customer service skills, holding a clean/full UK driving licence.
What the Job Involves
You will be responsible for maintaining green spaces across Council estates. Your duties include assisting with the maintenance of ornamental and grass areas, controlling unwanted herbage, undertaking minor landscape works, and maintaining the safe use of motorized equipment. You will ensure high standards of customer care while reporting any risks or hazardous items. You will also be responsible for routine non-mechanical maintenance of vehicles and equipment and will need to adhere to the council's policies, values, and procedures.
